I'm the oldest out of three, my sister is 17 and my brother is 11. I'm a huge family person, so I'd say I'm pretty close with them. My dad is an engineer and he travels every week to different states and sometimes different countries. I barely get to see him, but when he's home we do family things together, whether it's having a bonfire in the backyard on a nice summer night or staying in and watching a movie. No matter what, we always spend time together whenever he is home. My mom is a stay at home mom, so I'm pretty close to her. My brother plays football and baseball, so when it's that time of the year, my family and I always come and support him at every game and I think it's a great way of spending quality time with my family. We always do things together and I think it's great to have family bonding time. Overall, I'd say I love spending time with my family because without them I wouldn't have the life that I have.
I've lived in Reno for seven years now and I think it's a nice city. I was born in Minnesota and I lived there for about two years of my life, so I don't remember much. The majority of my family from both my mother and fathers side, live in Minnesota, so I don't get to see them often. My parents decided to start a business in Virginia, so we moved there. I lived on the country side of Virginia, so I grew up taking care of horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. In front of my house was a pond and I remember going fishing with my family on the weekends and catching a lot of catfish, meaning we had catfish almost every week for dinner. I was always outdoors and I absolutely loved it. I also started elementary school there and to this day I still talk to my best friend, Connie, whom I've known since the first day of school. I've known her for 13 years and we are still super close, even though we live hundreds of miles away from each other. I do go back every summer to visit her, my grandma, and even the house I use to live in. After living in Virginia for seven years, my dad found a new job and we moved to Reno in 2012. I basically had to start over and it was such a huge change in my life. It didn't revolve around animals and the outdoors anymore. It took me a little bit until I could get use to everything. I missed my life in the country but I slowly adjusted and started to like the city.
For hobbies, I enjoy going to the gym, going on hikes, and playing volleyball. I go to the gym on campus at least five to six days a week and I think it's a good place to clear my mind and release stress after doing homework or sitting in class for hours. In the summer I love going to the Hunter's Creek Trail and hiking up to the beautiful waterfall. The hike up is a bit of a torture the first few times but it's so worth it once you're up there. I use to play basketball as a child but I lost interest in it and started to play volleyball. I started playing volleyball as a hobby in middle school and I still go out and play with my friends every once in a while.
I chose to major in nursing because I'm interested in taking care of others and learning about our bodies and how to take care of them. I think it would be super exciting to wear scrubs everyday and work in a hospital. I want to do something that can possibly make a difference in our world.
I'm looking forward to English this semester and I can't wait to see what we are going to learn!
I love that hiking trail been there four times! It's just long of a hike but it is worth it because you relax and cool down by the waterfall.
ReplyDeleteI see that you spend a lot of time with your family, like nothing could ever ruin your bond with them :) Also, living in the country side sounds so much fun; I can tell you really miss your hometown.
