Hello, my name is Byron Barajas and I´m on my second semester of my freshman year here at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am currently majoring in Public Health, in order to register for Orvis Nursing School, and you know, to become a Nurse.
I am 19 years old and the youngest out of three siblings, which has its advantages and disadvantages. (I´m still treated like a five-year old, please send help!) I am born and raised in Reno, Nevada and I haven´t moved since I was born. I am a first-generation college student, so being able to graduate from college wouldn’t just be a proud accomplish for me, but for my family as well.
Some interesting things about myself is that I have five pets in total: three cats and two dogs. When I was younger, my family owned a duck named Patrick but sadly, he met his faith. I love anything artistic related: I love painting and sketching, I am learning how to play the piano, I was once great at playing the clarinet but I forgot everything about it. But as of lately, I am great at ceramics—Not at the wheel, though—but I can hand build some great sculptures. On my spare time, I´m either listening to music or watching a movie or reading a book. Mostly, watching movies though, I have a great appreciation for movies and filmmaking. Also, I love spending time with my friends and family. I am so grateful for those around me and I love spending time with them. The two biggest things I value in my life are my family and friends. Oh! I forgot to mention, I also love to volunteer at local festivals. When I was in high school, I was a part of Key Club, which if you don´t know, is mainly volunteer and ever since then, I love volunteering and helping my community. I´ve only ever had one job and it was working with kids at my local Boys and Girls Club and I loved working there. Some great times! I am also a people person; I love to observe people’s behavior and attitudes as well as I love having great conversation with them and getting to know them. Also, I love taking walks around my neighborhood but yeah that’s it.
In terms of academics, I am mediocre at best in math. My favorite subject tends to be English and Health classes. In my spare time, I try to write to improve my skill. Am I good at it? No, but I try and I love to analyze things.
Since we are talking about food in class, I thought I should mention my favorite food: sushi. I can have it almost every day, except for in the mornings though—I can´t eat anything seafood related in the mornings. I don´t know why but nope, not for me. Generally, I´m not a picky person either. I love nearly every food option but as of lately, I´m trying to keep myself extra healthy.
Yeah for the most part, this is me. I am an optimistic and I´m trying to be more outgoing. So, if you want to be friends, let me know!
What is your favorite type of sushi and do you eat the raw stuff?
ReplyDeleteRIP Patrick, and I relate completely to the first generation college student and being the youngest and treated as a 5 year old thing. Glad we can go through it together.
