How to eating delicious food while being a full time college student
As a college student many of us struggle with the task we need to do daily which is eat.
We struggle with this for many reasons. Some think we do not have enough time, some may struggle with money, some forget to eat and the list goes on. As a college student myself I have found the ins and outs to eating healthy and being a full time college student.
1.Pack simple foods
This can be as easy as packing a string cheese. You can also pack apples and carrots. You don’t need big extravagant foods. For lunch you can easily pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Trail mix is always a go to for me.
2. Over cook and freeze
I always spend my Sunday cooking foods for that week if I know it will be hectic. I sometimes like to cook spaghetti and freeze until its needed. Chicken, Rice and vegetables are always a good idea when you have a busy week ahead of you because they are easy to refrigerate and pull out and warm up when you need it.
3. Make time to eat
I think every person needs to make time to eat-especially a college student. I think this because when someone is going off an empty stomach they won’t be able to retain as much information as if they had a full stomach. I think it is easier for someone to focus after they had a meal. You can get more done with having a break and eating than trying to complete work on empty stomach.
4. Think responsibly when shopping
When shopping always go in to the grocery store with a plan. Write a list of what you are going to buy and do not go off the list. When shopping it is ok to buy off brand products because in the end they all have the same ingredients.
5.Always look for sales
I know some may say “yeah of course,” but when is the last time you have sat down to look at sales going on. These sales could be in newspapers and on price tags in grocery stores. To go further when you go out to eat always look at the “2 for 1” menu. With this you can easily get 2 entrees and box one up and eat one for later.
