Abraham Aguayo

Hello everyone, my name is Abraham Aguayo and I'm 19 years old. I'm from Las Vegas NV. I am a freshman here at UNR. I am a pre-veterinarian major and this is my second semester here. I currently living in the dorms on campus. My goal to become a vet needs a Bachelor degree which is the reason I am studying at UNR. I have enjoyed my time here so far, from making new friends to experiencing new things. I have learned to take care of myself more and I'm glad to be here and have this opportunity.

I have a family of four which is my parents, my sister, and me. I am Hispanic, my parents come from Mexico from the state of Zacatecas. My sister didn't come until august in 2008 when I was 8 years old. I was born in Las Vegas and raised there for all my life. I am the first from my family to go to college. My parents really pushed me to go to college because they want me to have a better life. I am thankful for my parents for being the good people they are and giving me the opportunity to even go to college. I look up to my parents, they worked hard to get where they are and it is very inspiring.

Another thing about me is that I really enjoy soccer. I started to play when I was 6 years old when my dad put me in a team. I enjoyed playing soccer, I was ecstatic to go to practice and play with the team. I met many friends playing soccer some that I've know for 12 years now, I am grateful to meet my teammates turned friends. I only played in the high school team for 1 year, getting my varsity letter my sophomore year and never returned to play high school again. After that I stopped playing because the team disbanded and I didn't wanna play for any other team.

My reason for being at UNR is to become a veterinarian. I want to become a veterinarian because I like animals. I grew up with animals all my life, my first pet was a dog. I have had a variety pets during my life dogs, birds, fishes, turtles, cats, rabbits, and even a rat. currently I have four dogs which I have had for at least 8 years. I really didn't have any career plan in my life, I only knew I was going to college. I liked animals a lot so I decided to just become a vet, which is a long ways away.
