What’s up everyone. My name is Daniel DeBernardi and I am a freshman attending the University of Nevada, Reno.
I was born in California. I lived there all eighteen years of my life. Since I stayed in the same area I have made some great friends and meet all friends that I still have today. Since I'm away from home it's been strange to not see my friends and family on a daily basis. I would like to graduate in 4 years but if it takes a extra year that works as well. The fact that this school is expensive I want to get out as fast as possible so my family doesn't have to keep paying.
These past couple months in Reno have been wild. I have meet so many new people and done some things I never seen myself doing. Since I been hear I went to my first concert and it was very fun and it was a good bonding experience with my new friends. After being here for three months I have seen my parents four times and it’s always good to see them. It has snowed three times since I been living here and I love it. Reno is still strange to me because where I'm from there aren't ten hotels around where I live. One of the reason that I wanted to attend at this school is because our sports teams are very good since they are D1. Second reason for me was that the gym is so big that there are many workouts that can be done there.
When I’m not in class or not being attacked by the amount of homework I get a week I love to sleep. When I feel that I got my full amount of rest I like to go on hikes with my friends. We all love to hangout on the beach when we go to tahoe for the weekend. Throughout my childhood I loved every sport. What made sports fun for me was the competition against the other teams that we played. When I was in Highschool my parents put a pool in out backyard and my friends loved it. Every weekend people would come over and swim and we would cook some hot dogs and burgers. When I was growing up I always wanted a dog but sadly my brother and father are allergic to dogs and cats. So I never got to take care of any animal besides my brother who eats like a dog.
Since we have to choose a food that we love, I’m gonna have to go with Mac and Cheese. This meal is the best because the cheese is always melted on the pasta so it warms up your stomach. I am a very picky person when it comes to new food and I’m not proud of it. But if there is one food that I hate it would have to be cabbage and brussel sprouts because they look very gross to me.
I am looking forward to be attending this early class with all of you!
Daniel, I agree with the Tahoe part. Tahoe is one of my favorite places to be. I have a house up there on the lake, so it's basically a second home. I can't believe you hate cabbage and Brussel sprouts though! Brussel sprouts are so delicious and so is cabbage, just with the right seasoning.Just like you, I am trying to finish school as quick as possible. I hate having the burden of tuition on my parents shoulders and I just want to take it off of them as well. Growing up where you did sounds super fun and friendly. Neighborhood barbecues are the best!
