Hi everyone, my name is Morgan Hummel. I am 18 years
old, I was born and raised in Reno Nevada. I have 5 older brothers, I know
crazy right, I’m definitely the baby of my family. I live with my mom, dad and
my grandma. Four of my brothers are foster brothers that my parents raised, and
only one is my blood sibling. All the boys are at least 10 years older than me
and grew up racing dirt bikes. They are all moved out and have families of
their own now, but this means my early childhood was spent away at the race
track every weekend. Growing up with all those boys didn’t make for a normal
childhood, but it gave me a strong love for the beautiful desert we live in and
going fast. Since I was raised with older boys, I was a very shy little kid. I
never wanted to sit on Santa’s lap and I only spoke to my family and very close
friends. I was bullied a lot from about 4th to 6th grade
(during the awkward chubby years we all have as kids), but this only made me a
stronger person when it comes down to it. In the 6th grade to break
me out of my shell my parents let me start cheerleading with my best friend.
This was the best thing to happen to me at the time. I cheered from ages 12 to
17 and enjoyed every minute of it. In middle school, I played volleyball as
well in the 7th and 8th grade because cheer had broken me
out of my shy stage. In high school I was crazy involved; I did varsity cheer
all 4 years, swam for 2 years, was a freshmen mentor, did leadership and took
stats for the wrestling team. Swimming was fun for me and made me want to
become a lifeguard. So now I go to UNR and lifeguard for the city of Reno. I
also recently got a job at the wolf shop to be more involved in school and make
some extra money. I still love riding my dirt bike with my family and kayaking
in the summers. My favorite color is yellow as you can tell by my mood board
and I love sunflowers. Also, on my mood board are my 2 German shepherds they
are my loves. Remington is 7 months old and is the first puppy I have ever
raised. Willow is 3 and my uncle rescued her at 6 months old. He gave her to my
mom as a Mother’s Day present and she quickly fell in love with me, so she
became more of my present. My favorite food is also on the board: its pasta, but
I love all Italian food. My aunt went to Italy a few years ago and took a
cooking class there. When she got back, she knew how to make the most amazing
food and I’ve been in love with Italian food ever since. So that’s a little bit
about me and my life thank all for listening, I’ll see you in English!
I swam in high school too! What is your favorite swim stroke?
