Blog 4

So, for this assignment, I decided to interview one of my best friends which is Morgan. We have gone to the same schools since middle school, and we got closer in our senior year of high school. We were both on the cheer team for football season, and we sat next to each other in English. One day after cheer practice I was leaving the parking lot, and she ended up backing into my car. We both got out of our cars and saw the damage which was only a couple of scratches on the sides of our vehicles but we really did not want to deal with insurance companies, and we did not want to tell our moms that we got into a car accident. So, we just said that we would have our dad’s buff out the scratches before our moms could see the damages. Ever since the car accident, we have been best friends. It is an interesting story to tell people about how we became friends, and it is pretty funny to see people’s reactions to the story. Anyway, Morgan was born in Nevada, and she is the complete opposite from me. Morgan is very blunt and very loud personality; meanwhile I am very blunt, but I am super quiet/ shy. She is German but born in the United States meanwhile I was born in Mexico then I moved to Reno so we had different upbringings regarding food. Some food combinations seem weird to me, but they come from her German background. Also, the food that we eat is very different because she does not like spicy food meanwhile I enjoy eating spicy food. I lived in Los Angeles, California for a couple of years before moving to Reno, Nevada. With this interview, I was able to learn more about her culture and her childhood.
Question 1: “what was your favorite food growing up?”
Answer: My favorite food is chicken Alfredo
Question 2: “why is chicken alfredo your favorite food?”
Answer: “I’m not sure we why it is my favorite food it is just we ate a lot of chicken alfredo when I was a kid, and I really like noodles.”
Question 3: “What is your go-to meal for special occasions like Christmas, Thanksgiving, or birthdays ?”
Answer: “my family’s go-to meal for special occasions is tri-tip or ribs.”
Questions 4: “how has growing up in Reno, Nevada shape you?”
Answer: “I think growing up in Reno shaped me into the person I am because I do a lot. I’m a very active person because there’s a lot to do here. There’s the desert to riding dirt bikes and Tahoe to ski or kayak.”
Question 5: “Do you cook?”
Answer: “no I can hardly boil water. I think that’s another thing that was shaped by Reno because there’s a lot of restaurants here so if you can’t cook it doesn’t matter.”
Question 6: “what is a weird food combination that you like to eat.”
Answer: “pickles and cheese.”
