My favorite recipe to make growing up was a cheese plate hors d'oeuvre. I always made it with my mom for barbeque's and get togethers. She taught me how to make this dish at a young age and I now make it on my own from time to time. At all of the gatherings we have brought this dish to, we are always commended on how delightful it tastes. Here is the recipe so that you too can make this amazing appetizer.
Recipe:
1 block of goat cheese
1 block of cream cheese
Kalamata olives
Green olives
Sauce:
1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 Cup olive oil
2 Garlic cloves
2 tbs Fresh basil
2 tbs Fresh parsley
Directions:
1. Cut both cream cheese and goat cheese in small rectangular sizes.
2. Set two slices of goat cheese and one slice of cream cheese overlapping each other in a dish until all cheese is used.
3. Place kalamata and green olives evenly and generously all over the dish.
4. Mix vinegar and olive oil together
5. Mince garlic into very small pieces
6. Chop basil and parsley into small pieces
7. Add all sauce ingredients into mason jar and shake until mixed thoroughly.
8. Add sauce on top of cheese platter.
9. Let marinate in the fridge for 3 hours
