What was your favorite thing to eat as a kid in Iran?
Zereshk Polo. It's a dish with white rice and saffron on top with barberries.
Is that still your favorite dish today or has it changed now that you're older?
Yes, it still remains my favorite dish.
Do you have any celebrations surrounding food in Iran similar to Thanksgiving that you enjoy?
We don't have any food celebrations but on Persian New Year rice with dill and salmon is very common.
Is there any Persian food you eat that always reminds you of a certian person or event?
Every Persian food reminds me of my grandma.
Is there any Persian dish that you can cook really well?
Almost anything since i've learned how to cook for so long from different family members.
Including the interviewee's holiday dish not only shows how they celebrate that holiday in their culture but how different that culture is from ours when we celebrate holidays here and what we eat.
