Dear FDA,
Most food that people consume is bought from a grocery store rather than made and processed by themselves, knowing that information it would be hard for someone to indicate how long they have until this food loses flavor or has gone bad. However you do not require the states to put expiration labels on their food, unless it is food for infants, and that is because of the nutrients they could lose which is very unhealthy for them. Food that has been expired is also bad for anyone not just babies, eating food past their expiration date can expose our bodies to bacteria that can harm us, causing vomiting, fevers, and diarrhea, although its ok to at some stale foods like crackers, that will not kill us. However eating bad meat can cause bacteria like Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Bacillus, Clostridium and Escherichia coli, two can kill you if not treated, and one is contagious.  In all i feel that it would be such a great help if all the state were required to put expiration labeling on food for the benefit of the people and their well being.

Sincerely,

Amayah Jackson
