Introduction: Celeste Marquez

Hello everyone! My name is Celeste Marquez Suzan and I am eighteen years old. I am on my second semester of my freshman year here at the University of Nevada, Reno. I was born in Mexico City then in 2003 I moved to Reno, Nevada. My major is political science then I plan to go to law school. I am still thinking if I should double major in either criminal justice or international affairs. I have one older brother that is 25 and studies in Mexico. I also have one younger half-sister that also lives in Mexico and she is eleven. I am only person in my family who chose to study in the United States. Then I chose to go to University of Nevada, Reno because it was the cheapest option for me and I was closer to my family. Right now, I am studying to become a court interpreter and hopefully I will take the test for it in April. I graduated North Valleys High School with an honors diploma. In high school I was able to get my Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and French. I was in cheer for four years with my best friend and in swim for one year. I was also involved with honors society and freshman mentoring. One of my favorite sorts is soccer and I played for seven years, but I ended up getting injured in my leg during a game and had gotten a bad concussion so I had to quit playing. Another of my favorite things to do is traveling so far, I have been all over Mexico, Italy, Spain and France. I spent three weeks in France and Italy with my mom and my aunt to celebrate my birthday. My favorite place was Paris because of the food and how pretty the city looks at night. I would like study aboard so I can go back to Paris or Italy. During summer I love going to beaches to swim and to relax with either my family or friends.  Also, I love going out with my friends to the movies, mall, go on vacations, or when we go to Lake Tahoe. On my free time I like to listen to music, watch a movie, or go to the gym. The most important things I value in my life are my family and friends. I have a cat that is two years old and I got her when she was ten weeks old. My favorite school subject was math because I had an amazing teacher that motivated his students to be the best that the can be and I was better in math compared to other subjects that I took. In English I was preferred to write essays than to do readings. Since we are talking about food in class my favorite foods are sushi, anything with pasta, and any Mexican food. Also, I love to eat anything that is spicy, but I am trying to eat healthier. Thank you for reading!

  2. I think thats really cool you have family in another country. I also had a bad leg injury that caused me to be done with playing sports. Im not sure what exactly a court interpreter does but I think law practicing is really interesting. Good luck in your studies!
