Hi, my name is Sienna Most. I am currently in my freshmen year. I am a
community health major that is hoping to get into the nursing program. I am
hoping at some point in my life to be a pediatric nurse working in the oncology
ward.
I love my family and would do anything to make them happy. I have 3
older sisters, 2 of them are my real sisters and 1 is my step sisters. They are
23, 22, and 21. My sister closes to my age was diagnosed with autism when she
was three, so I am a big advocate for autism. I also have a little half brother
who is 3 and was a big surprise when he was born. As for my parents, my dad and
mines relationship is a little difficult to explain. I will just say he has
made some poor discussions which has left us with a rocky relationship. I,
however, love him and would be there for him if needed. As for my mom, she was
bitten by a mosquito and contracted West Nile Virus about 13 years ago. She was
left paralyzed and with underlying health problems. She fought hard for a good
10 years, but sadly passed away my junior year of high school. Losing my mom is
the hardest thing that I have ever been through, we were really close. I still
to this day still have a really rough time not being able to see her or call
her. She is my biggest motivator and every good thing I do is for her.
My mom is also the reason I have decided to go into nursing. Due to my
mom spending a lot of times being in hospitals, I saw a ton of health care
workers come in and out of her room and was always fascinated with the nurses.
They seemed to be the ones that could take my mom out of being in pain. I also
appreciate how nurses are such hard workers. I hope one day, I will have the
ability to be as good as the nurses that took care of my mom.
When I am not doing school related thing or at work which I love. I
work at an elementary school for an after school. I work with Kindergarteners
and they are my absolute favorites. But when I am not at work or school I love
to walk and play with my dogs. They are my biggest form of entertainment. I
also love to go hiking in Tahoe. Another thing I love doing during my free time
is to catch up on my favorite t.v shows. The shows I am currently obsessing
over is You, Grey’s Anatomy, and One Tree Hill. I also love music and my all
time favorite artist is Ed Sheeran.
I am so excited to finish up my freshmen year as strong as possibe!
Is there a specific location or trail in Tahoe that you like to hike in?

Eight Tips for Healthy Budget Eating
Buying food can be expensive especially when you are trying to be healthy. As a college student who wants to save money while still eating healthy these are tips and tricks, I have found to work for me. So if you want to eat healthy check out this list below.
1. Don’t eat out!
Eating out can become very expensive because you are paying for the food plus the service. You can use the money saved from making the food and buy more groceries. The food can become way healthier because you are controlling what is put into your food.
2. Scope out deals! Stores will give out food deals. Especially with fruits in vegetables, you can find deals such as a pound for blank amount. When you find these deals stock up on them. If you are scared of the produce going bad you can freeze them and use at a later time. Fruits are a great thing to freeze so that you can use them to make smoothies.
3. Plan your meals!
Before stepping into a grocery store have a list of the week's meals and things needed to make the meals. Doing this will stop you from wondering into buying unhealthy food. You will also be saving money because you won't spend it on junk food. You also will not have any excuse to eat out because you have a meal planned out for every dinner.
4. Just drink water! Another trick is to only allow yourself water. Drinking water is free and you are not consuming calories from sugary drinks. I personally allow myself to drink coffee in the morning then after that, I only have water for the remaining of the day.
5. No need for national brands! Almost all stores have generic brands that are way cheaper than buying national brands. The two brands, for the most part, taste the same. By buying the generic brands you are saving money that can be used towards healthy eating.
6. Bulk is best! Stores that sell in bulk is better than those that don’t. You are getting way more food that can last longer. Especially if its something you eat all the time. An example would be almonds, a small pack could be priced out $1.25 and you eat them every day so your total would be $8.25. Instead of buying the small packs of almonds you could buy a bulk of them for the same price that will likely last you a lot longer.
7. Leftovers! If you end up with a lot of extra food, save them for another day. A lot of times I’ll save leftovers for lunch the next day. This stops me from eating out and also makes my lunch healthy.
8. Grocery stores! When going to buy your healthy food chose a good store. Some stores are way more expensive than others. I personally try to avoid stores such as Target and Whole Foods because stores like Costco and Winco are usually cheaper.

James Quincey
CEO, The Coca-Cola Company
1 Coca- Cola Plz,
Atlanta, GA 30313
404-676-2121
Dear Ms. Quincey,
I am writing to you due to the amount of plastic and harmful waste you create while packaging your product. Coca-Cola products are consumed by people on a daily basis. The product itself gets consumed however the container that held the drink is often wasted. Due to the large amount of waste that is being created, it is starting to cause harmful problems for sea life and the planet. These problems may be small now but if they continue this can lead to serious and dangerous issues.
The problem with your product causing so much waste is that it ends up in areas such as the ocean. Once the product is found in the ocean sea life can mistake the waste as food and can die from eating it. One example is a sea turtle, they can often mistake the plastic that holds soda cans as jellyfishes this can choke them and cause them to die. Another example is that the cans that are used to hold Coca-Cola products can confuse fish and other sea related animals stuck in them killing the sea animal. The animals can eventually become extinct if enough of them are killed by plastic mistakes. This leads to many sad tragic deaths of sea life that can be avoided by rethinking the way Coca-Cola products are packaged. Another problem with Coca-Cola products is plastic bottles. The plastic is very harsh on the planet and takes a long time to disintegrate and the plastic never really goes away they stay in small plastic shards.
At the moment Coca-Cola products are packaged in aluminum cans, plastic bottles, cardboard bottles, and plastic wrappers. As stated above these materials are very dangerous to sea life and the planet in general. Knowing this I am hoping that you James Quincey as the CEO of Coca-Cola will want to rethink the way that you are packaging products. Some ways that you could use to package your products are to use recycled material, glass, and using biodegradable material to package. Doing this would help reduce the amount of plastic and other wasteful material that is used to package Coca-Cola products. The one that I think would be most useful is the biodegradable materials because this would reduce the plastic covering the planet and also would stop the harming of sea life because they would no longer be mistaking plastic as food. The material can also be safe for animals to eat because they disintegrate.
With Coca-Cola being such a big name brand company; I'm hoping other companies will start to follow. This could eventually reduce plastic waste by big and small food and drink companies. The erasing of plastic waste would lead to a cleaner and healthier planet. That will be liable for future generations.
Sincerely,
Sienna Most
