Blog One

Hey, guys! My name is Jaiden Christopher. I was raised in Enid, Oklahoma, and eventually came to Nevada for my dad's work, then school. I'm technically still supposed to be in high school, but I got the opportunity to graduate early. I haven't been in a formal classroom in two years since I graduated through NVLA back in Vegas. (It's online.)
Vegas wasn't too fun for me, but I did meet my boyfriend (stud pictured above) at a Spite show in Henderson. He's an Immunologist and Microbiologist, which is scarily close to my majors, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. We've been together for a year and a half, just about, and we moved in together on the 3rd of January. We might end up leaving Reno to go to Berkley together in the bay area, or we might stay here. Either way, there's work for us in our fields.
Another goal of mine, besides Berkley, is to have my pit bull Charlie, after Ray Charles because they're both blind, with me once again! He's one-hundred and twenty pounds of drool and love. He's home with my parents, but hopefully, soon the SO and I can get a place that's safe and comfortable for our son.
Until then we have to occupy ourselves, so I work at the Starbucks on Kietzke Lane. Please stop by and say hello! I'm also predominantly into creative and spiritual things, such as painting and Wicca. I've been doing both for as long as I can remember. I take commissions regularly, and I've displayed on the Las Vegas strip along the side of a few popular artists down there. I'm eternally grateful that I was raised to have an inept sense of self and creativity. My grandmother played the viola and painted, and my aunt is in the California State Ochrestra, so I think it's genetic. To add onto "genetic," I am the thirteenth generation of Wiccan women in my family, which is super funny because 13 is the equivalent of 777 for say, Christians. I did have a period where I was not practicing, but now I do every day, as some would in prayer. I'm open, so please ask me if you have any questions about spirituality!
Something that coincides with my spirituality is how I live my life down to what I eat, wear, say, act, do, etc. Our first commandment is "Do No Harm." This means to you, another person, an animal, your surroundings, etc. The precautions are as follows;
1. I never do anything to hurt myself, which can be hard because most of us are self-sabotaging individuals.
2. I use my voice for those who may not have one. Such as animals, minorities, etc.
3. I'm constantly in tune with other and I genuinely care for other people. I try to be caring, and sympathetic to anyone I may encounter.
4. I do not eat animal products, for many reasons, but some of those reasons are that most minority communities are affected by cesspools than any other community, giving them a high chance of developing lung cancer, and asthma. Animals that we raise for food are sentient, just as my dog, Charlie is, and have no voice. I am that voice. Finally, the earth is my only home, and if I can participate in the preservation of it by knocking down my carbon footprint, I will!
Feel free to always come to talk to me in class!

  1. Jaiden,
    Your dog looks just like my black/gray Cane Corso. Mine is not a pit bull but looks like your Charlie.
